THE RULES
- Open to any individual who is a Lehigh Valley resident; one entry per person.
- Entry to be a pie that must include at least 60 % apples in the filling. It does not need to be a “traditional” two crusted apple pie and it can have a variety of fillings.
- The entire pie must be submitted for judging in a disposable pie pan.
- Recipe must be submitted with the entry for the pie and pie crust, printed on one side of 8-1/2” x 11” paper. Recipe must list all ingredients, quantities, and the preparation instructions. Entrant’s name, address and phone number must be printed on the back side of all pages. All pies and recipes submitted are the property of Harvest Festival and may be printed in a newsletter.
- Refrigeration is not available.
- Pie entries should be registered at the tent/table between 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.
- Judging will take place at Noon
- Judging will be based on the following criteria:
- Flavor 30 points
- Filling: consistency, doneness, moistness and flavor 25 points
- Crust: color, flavor, texture, doneness 20 points
- Overall appearance 15 points
- Creativity 10 points
- Total 100 points

Contest Rules and Guidelines
2008 BETHLEHEM HARVEST FESTIVAL PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST
The 2008 Bethlehem Harvest Festival Carving Contest will be held on Saturday, October 4. The winners will be selected by our judges in the Beer Garden area, at the Bethlehem Harvest Festival, after dark. All winning contest entries can claim their prize after Friday October 10th at the CCA offices located at 532 Main Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018. Any unclaimed prizes after Friday November 14, 2008 will be donated to Share Care.
How to Enter
Stop by the Bethlehem Harvest Festival registration stand, located at Main Street and Walnut Street, on October 4, 2008, after 9:00 am and register for the contest. No purchase is necessary. However, you must register to receive a unique entry number.
Carve your pumpkin, at one of the locations throughout the Historic Downtown area. With a permanent marker, write your unique contestant registration number on the back of the pumpkin.
Drop your pumpkin off at the Beer Garden, after 4:00 pm(one of our friendly staff will be happy to direct you). Be sure your pumpkin has been marked and identified with your registration number. At the time you drop your pumpkin off, we will take a digital photograph of you with your carved masterpiece.
Your pumpkin will be displayed and judged from the time you drop your pumpkin off until 9:00 pm, when all of the pumpkins will be illuminated and the winner will be announced. You are then welcome to take your pumpkin home.

Contest Rules
- No purchase necessary. However, the Bethlehem Harvest Festival will have a nice selection of pumpkins to choose from, if you desire.
- You and your pumpkin must be registered. You can enter more than one pumpkin however; each entry must be registered to receive a unique registration number.
- By entering the contest, entrants accept and agree to these rules and the prize judging process, which shall be final. Entrants also agree to allow The Bethlehem Harvest Festival to use the winner's name, contest entry, likeness and/or other related information for promotional purposes.
- The Bethlehem Harvest Festival reserves the right to use contest designs, photos and stories for promotional and commercial purposes.
- Prizes: One First Prize winner will receive $50.00 Cash. One Second Prize winner will receive $25.00 Cash. One Third Prize winner will receive $10.00 Cash.
- Prizes won by minors will be awarded to parent or legal guardian who must sign and return all required documents.
- Any taxes are sole responsibility of the winners.
- Contest open to legal residents of the United States only.
- Contest rules may change without notice.
